i'm loving my bike so far, but the LCD on the fuel gauge has a couple of bars burned out on it. Is there an aftermarket gauge cluster that can be bought anywhere?

Your choice is to buy used from a parts salvage yard and hope you get a good one or buy new from Honda, 37205-KS4-771, $387.33.

Me too, I have two 87's, neither ones fuel gage work well! I fill up at every 150 miles using the trip meter.

Also, the innards from the Chinese clones' instrument panels are a straight swap if you can find one of those cheaply. Some only do mph (as opposed to mph/kph), though, if that bothers you.
