Those really nice backrests

Postby byeway » Tue Jul 08, 2014 6:44 pm

I'm returning to the board to report a message from "the past" -- here's the email I just received --

Hi Bill,

Just came upon a link to your very nice website on the Helix Discussion Board. That driver backrest was made by the late Richard Moore of Richard's Racks N' Rails. He made quite a variety of items for Helixes including luggage racks, crash bars and other things. He lived in Safford, AZ and before Scootercade in Eureka Springs stopped happening, he would load his pickup with his wares and sell them at the rally. As his health declined back in the late '90's, early 2000's, he tried to find someone to take over the manufacture of his accessories, but to no avail. He was a really nice man.

Is there any place that I can buy a back rest for my Helix? I've got a 01 , but have a friend who can make just about anything close work?

I have the utopia backrest. It’s a very nice product.

If you do a search, others on the board have made their own.
