Hello everyone. My name is Doug and I am a Helix Addict. I am also a gentleman of leisure (that means retired) I have had my 2001 Helix since 2006 and love the critter. I usually use my Helix for errands about town although to prove a point I have toured the American Southeast on it. I have found that with a top box and a waterproof seat roll from Wolfman I can go as far as I want with this bike. I do all of my own maintenance on this bike unless I am being lazy. When the lazy's attack I am fortunate enough to have an independent bike shop here where I live that does quality work at reasonable prices (it helps that it is owned by a friend I expect). I also currently have two other motorcycles. The first is a 2007 Suzuki Vstrom 650 kitted out for Adventure (I am a member of ADVRider). This bike usually sits in my shop unless I am going out for a ride of over 2-3 hours when it is pulled into service. My third bike is a recent addition to my stable. I have been wanting an antique motorcycle for a while and stumbled onto a 1980 Honda Express NC50. It wasn't running when I bought it but a piston and cylinder kit fixed that (along with a good cleaning of the carb).
I just can not believe I hadn't found this group until yesterday. It was mentioned on ADVRider in the Battle Scooter sub board and so... Here I am.
