Where can I get exhaust crush washer? Dealer is clueless

Postby miranda » Fri Feb 22, 2019 7:04 am

Does anyone have a source?

Dealer is clueless and acts like these are rare as hen's teeth.

My Helix is 2001

Do all years of Helixes use the same crush washer or not?

Thanks for help

Crush washers are used when torquing bolts to metal. A good example of that is the crush washer used between the oil drain bolt and the pan. They are usually made of aluminum.

There are no crush washers per say for the exhaust. There is a gasket #1 and #8. See diagram below.

A Honda dealer found a number one and sold it to me for $5

OEM is copper and not aluminum. Just sayin.

As you know, it crushes to form seal for exhaust

BTW some call this copper crush ring a gasket. Others call it a washer. Go figure.

The one that goes between the manifold and the exhaust port - Item 1 on this schematic?

https://images.cmsnl.com/img/partslists ... 8_7ff7.gif

Part number is 18291KS4690 - it fits all variants, all years. Don't buy the aftermarket ones off eBay, 'cos they don't fit!
